ولد في زحلة عام 1974. تلقى علومه في مدرسة الحبل بلا دنس لراهبات الأرمن الكاثوليك وفي ثانوية ماريوسف للراهبات الأنطونيات. حاز على اجازة في العلوم السياسية سنة 1997 من جامعة هايكازيان في بيروت. وبعدما تأديته خدمة العلم في الجيش اللبناني، التحق بجامعة “برادفورد” شمالي لندن (بريطانيا)، وحاز على ماجستير في السياسة الدولية والأمن وقد اختار لاطروحته عنوان “اعادة بناء لبنان سياسياً واجتماعياً.”
عاد من بريطانيا عام 1999 ليعيش مواطنيته ويخدم وطنه بعلمه وخبرته مع بقائه وفياً للثقافة التي تلقاها في ربوع المملكة البريطانية مترجماً ذلك بانتسابه لجمعية الخريجين اللبنانيين من الجامعات البريطانية والمساهمة في تفعيل دورهم داخل المجتمع اللبناني.

23 أيلول 2000 | Shant Chinchinian was born in Zahle in 1974. He enrolled in Saint Joseph Antonine Sisters’ School in Zahle, following which he earned his BA in Political Sciences from Haigazian University in Beirut in 1997. After, he earned his MBA in International Politics and Security Studies from Bradford University in the UK, presenting his thesis about “Constructing Lebanon: The Search For Domestic & Political Harmony”. In 1999, Chinchinian returned to Lebanon and joined The Lebanese Graduates of Britain, LGB. In 2000, he started his career as a teacher at several schools in Zahle and Anjar. In 2006, he moved to Beirut where he was appointed vice principal of AGBU Nazarian School and became the principal of the latter in 2007, until he was elected a member of the Lebanese Parliament in 2009. Supported by the Ministry of Displaced and the United Nations, Chinchinian played an active role in different NGOs, social clubs, workshops and various social and political activities, mainly in the areas affected by displacement during the Lebanese War in order to attain a “Peaceful Conflict Resolution”. Between 2000-2001 he served as founding member of Rotaract Club – Zahle and its President for the years 2001 and 2002. He headed the financial committee of Rotaract Clubs of district 2450 that included 6 countries, between 2002 and 2003. Later on, Chinchinian joined Rotary Club – Zahle where he supervised the execution of several development projects in Zahle such as: rehabilitating schools and social establishments, drilling artesian wells and providing clean drinking water in the Bekaa District. In 2004, he ran for Zahle Municipality elections as an independent candidate supported by the Lebanese Forces, Lebanese Phalanges (Al Kataeb), the Free Patriotic Movement. In 2009: Chinchinian ran for the first time for the parliamentary elections and won and became a Zahle – Lebanese Forces – MP. He was also assigned Head of the Displaced Affairs Committee. Later, he was assigned Founding President of the Lebanese-Korean Friendship committee. In 2012: Chinchinian presented a draft law suggesting that teachers should undergo emotional aptitude tests in order to protect students. He also presented a draft law concerning internally displaced persons, food safety, the Lebanese University, Taif Agreement, sustainable development and Lebanese shores rehabilitation. Chinchinian called for activating women’s role in the Lebanese social life, promoting and defending the rights of youth and children. Besides, he participated in several reforestation campaigns. Chinchinian founded the NGO Insanouna, in 2010, aiming at reuniting Bekaa citizens from all religions, improving cultural and educational levels, protecting the environment and the heritage, reinforcing women’s role and providing health care for people in need. He is also an active member in the Permanent Peace Movement spreading peace, equity, democracy and justice. He participated as well in the organization of Zahle Festivals. |
